about Anne

Once a newspaper editor and publisher, now retired and trying hard not to get too tired...

It used to be a humor column called “Letters from Home” that was the repository of Anne Spry’s skewed sense of humor.

But when she retired and sold her newspaper, then published a collection of the columns written for the publication, her sarcastic wit needed a new home.

That’s when she started blogging. Eventually the blog title, “New Tricks for Old Dogs” was born.

This blog allows Anne to continue writing sarcastic and funny (to her at least) things to deal with the challenges of aging.

In addition to a love of writing, Anne enjoys photography

Once a newspaper editor, always one. And after years of scouting the landscape for a front page photo for the week, she just can’t shake the habit.

And now that she lives in Kansas on five acres of flat land with a mostly unobstructed view, her favorite photo subject is the sky.

Anne would love your comments or likes on the writing or the photography that appears on this site.
